Storm

We got the biggest thunderstorm I've seen since we moved here (possibly the biggest I've seen my entire life). The wind was crazy. Our kiddie pool kept getting blown fifty feet in the air and hitting our trees. The wind was seriously insane. After about ten minutes or so of really strong wind, it died down to a normal thunderstorm. We didn't notice until the next morning that we had lost two trees.

This one was completely uprooted.

This one split in half. I had noticed right after the storm that we had lost a large branch off of this tree but had no idea that we pretty much lost the entire tree.

Some good friends came over to help remove the trees. It was a much bigger job than we thought it was going to be.

Sawyer was enjoying every second being outside with the guys, doing manly things like using power tools to chop down trees.

What was once this...

...is now this.
And where the other tree was, there is now a large hole. If a thunderstorm can do this much damage, I hope we never get a tornado.

Wow. That's some strong wind. Sorry you lost those trees. Sad day. Maybe you can sled into the hole this winter. I bet that will be just as fun as sledding into the fence.

Crazy. I can't believe that happened. Was this the storm that you were talking to me during and worried your pool was going to blow away?
