Thanksgiving in Michigan

We went to visit my family in Michigan for Thanksgiving. It was so good to be home again. It's weird to think the next time my family sees me, I'll have a baby with me!

While everyone was at school, we entertained ourselves in the backyard with our dog, Cloe. Check out all the leaves!

We spent the day before Thanksgiving at my mom's school. Skigh did some fun science demonstrations for my mom's class and two science teachers' classes. He was a natural in front of the students.

The first thing he did was light a dollar bill on fire without burning it. He always used a student's dollar bill, so it was fun when they found out he was going to light it on fire.

He also demonstrated what happens when tiny particles (flour) get scattered into a flame. The students thought this part was so cool. They were all so interested in what he was doing. It was fun to watch and hear their questions. I'm glad Skigh got a small taste of what it's like to teach. It's hard work!

We played a Thanksgiving game with my mom's class at the end of the day.

We spent Thanksgiving at my Grandma and Grandpa Kelloggs' house. My grandparents and aunts and uncles surprised us with a generous baby gift. Here's a picture of a few of my cute cousins.

We went to visit my Grandma and Grandpa Miller later that day.

Since three of us won't be home for Christmas this year (tear), we decided to put up the tree while we were still home. It'll be sad not to be home for Christmas for the first time in 27 years. I try not to think about it too much.

Beautiful tree!

Beth and Eric made some of their famous scones for us. Yum.

I had to throw in some pictures of Cloe because she's just funny.

One of my best friends, Sonja, stopped by with her daughter, Ella.

She surprised me with an adorable baby gift.

Ella knew just what to do with this little decoration my mom had out.

One last breakfast together before we left.

Mom surprised us with some early Christmas presents to open.

After the usual tears that come every time we leave home, we were on our way back to Chicago to fly home.
