We had to make it to Hilton Head one last time before the summer came to an end. This time we went with some good friends, the Galbraith family. It was so much fun to be there with friends, especially for Bailey.
Bailey played with her friend, Sheldon, every minute she got. They both had the greatest time playing in the water, jumping in the waves. I think this was Bailey's favorite trip to the beach because she had a playmate the entire time.
They even tried a little boogie boarding, which consisted of them lying down on their boards in the water. They were having a great time though.
I think they were confused as to why they weren't moving like all the other kids.
We went to Harbour Town to enjoy a great dinner.
It's always fun to walk around and look at all the little shops, the boats, and enjoy the sunset.
The next day, back to the beach.
A little time out for a snack.
We enjoyed a dip in the pool before we headed back to our room. This is Sawyer's favorite part of going to the beach. He's not a fan of the ocean or the sand, but he loves the swimming pool.
This turtle, by the way, could pick up some serious waves in the ocean. Yes, I'm sure people thought it was funny to see two adults riding a huge blow-up turtle, but we were going farther than the people with the expensive boogie boards. That's right.
Biking is big in Hilton Head. There are a ton of fun bike trails, and you can ride the bikes right on the beach. We've tried to rent bikes before, but it's never worked out, so we were excited to finally enjoy some bike riding on the island.
Bailey wasn't a fan of the child's seat in the back. I don't think she felt safe.
This guy had it made with snacks, a beverage, and me carting him around all over the place.
Bailey decided to join Sawyer in the trailer. Much better.
This cracked me up. I peaked out on our balcony and found Bailey reading the newspaper like she's thirty years old.
Possibly my favorite part of this trip was our last morning there. It was just me and Sawyer out on a bike ride on the beach. It was the day after Labor Day, so there were very few people on the beach which made it so peaceful. Sawyer zonked out.
The rest of the crew was down by the water.
Last time digging in the sand.
Another much-needed trip to the beach. Until next summer.
