Easter

Easter was a lot of fun this year.

We started by decorating our bush. Bailey loves doing this each year.

Sawyer enjoyed pulling the eggs off.

We had an Easter egg hunt at a friend's house. I think this was Bailey's first Easter egg hunt, and it was so funny watching her. All the other kids were running around the house trying to get as many eggs as possible. Bailey was in no hurry and eventually found her first egg and then wanted to sit and open it to examine everything inside. She really had no desire to get any more eggs. She wanted to unwrap her candy and eat it. I was trying to encourage her to get more eggs and help her understand the concept of an Easter egg hunt, so she finally started looking again. Each time she would find one, we would have to open it to see what was inside. We had to re-hide some of the eggs for Bailey because they were all gone by the time she had only found two or three.

Her first egg.

Time to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

The night before Easter, we had to get our baskets ready for the Easter Bunny.

Bailey thoroughly enjoyed choosing her colors (and Sawyer's as well).

Easter morning finally arrived.

We did the traditional chocolate egg Easter egg hunt around the house.

This was Sawyer's favorite gift by far.

Later that day, the highlight of the week arrived. We hosted a neighborhood Easter egg hunt in our backyard. Skigh and I stuffed about a 120 Easter eggs and once everyone got here, all the moms went outside to hide the eggs. It was a lot of fun.

Bailey went at a slightly quicker pace this time.

Getting the last egg.

It was a success. I think we'll have to make our neighborhood Easter egg hunt a yearly tradition.
