The Big 29

I can't believe I am now 29 years old. It doesn't seem possible that I'll be turning 30 in a year. It just sounds so old. I better enjoy this last year of my youth.

Skigh and Bailey came into our room in the morning to wake me up. Skigh had a present and was singing "Happy Birthday." Bailey had this really worried expression on her face the entire time he was singing. When he finished, she started crying. It was so funny. I think she just didn't understand what was going on. It was new, and she didn't like it. But after that she truly embraced the day. She must have said, "Happy birthday, Mommy" about a hundred times that day. And for a few days afterwards as well.

Bailey really enjoyed helping me open my gifts. She was most excited about the two CDs I got. She loves music. She was disappointed when we opened a gift that wasn't music. She kept asking for the "new music." We couldn't listen to anything else for a few days after that.

Bailey also loved my new coat. She had to try it on right away.

Skigh forgot the cake, so we did it another night. We also went out to eat, and Bailey did great. It's getting easier and easier to take her out to restaurants. It was a great birthday.
