Bailey turned 15 months on April 23rd. She's 23 pounds, 3.5 ounces (54th%) and 32.25 inches (94th%). She's dropped a bit in weight, but is still very tall. The doctor asked if she's saying 3-5 words yet. She's talking way more than that. She probably says 30-40 words by now. She's a big talker, and people often comment about how well she speaks already.
*Favorite foods:
-Bananas
-Yogurt
-Graham crackers
-Water
-Eggs
*At 15 months, Bailey has
-Colored her first picture.
-Gotten several more teeth.
-Learned to drink out of a straw.
-Started nodding yes and no.
*She loves to
-Give kisses (she even keeps her mouth closed and puckers her lips).
-Wipe her own nose (and ours, too). Anytime we're in the bathroom, she wants some toilet paper. I usually give her one square, and then she takes it and wipes her nose, then throws it away. Pretty cute.
*New words:
-Phone (oh)
-Washcloth (gaga)
-Diaper
-Cracker (kkk)
-Bubble
-Baby (baba)
-Ball
-Bowl
-Straw
-She
*She says, "Mama," or "Mom" all the time. She's constantly calling my name. And I can't just say yes, so she'll tell me what she wants. She needs full eye contact, making sure I'm completely paying attention to her. It can get a little frustrating because she will do it over and over again while I'm trying to get lunch made... just to show me there's a fly in the room... for the fifteenth time.
*Bailey loves
-Kids of any age... older or younger than her. She LOVES kids. She'll go right up to one and say hi. She can be a little aggressive, leaning right into their faces. One time at Target, there was this girl who was maybe five or six. Bailey kept saying hi to her and waving. She would get kind of close to the girl. Then all of a sudden, the girl broke out crying and ran to her mom and said, "The baby keeps following me!" It was strange. Some kids just don't appreciate Bailey's friendliness. Also, Bailey will go right up to some to say hi, but if a kid goes up to her first, she doesn't like that. She'll shy away. I guess she needs to be in control of the situation.
-Taking baths.
-Animals. She loves looking at our next-door neighbor's dogs and cats. She asks to go look at them almost everyday.
*She likes
-Picking dandelions from our backyard. (Luckily, they're all gone now, but we used to have quite the garden.)
-Having a blanket thrown over her. Anytime I'm trying to fold sheets or a blanket, she thinks it's a game, so she runs right into them. It ends up taking quite a while for me to get anything folded, but she has a great time.
-Playing with the Wii remotes. I'm constantly having to take them away from her. Why I don't just keep them out of her reach, I don't know.
-Taking the top off of chapstick. She LOVES this.
*She can point to her own or another person's
-Eyes
-Ears
-Nose
-Mouth
-Teeth
-Tongue
-Chin
-Cheeks
-Forehead
-Hands
-Feet
-Head
-Hair
*If you ask her, she will
-Sing for you.
-Dance for you.
-Run for you.
*Her favorite things to do are
-Dance--Either in my arms or on her own. She'll often want me to turn on the music and dance around the room with her. She loves it.
-Read--She'll read book after book. She loves looking at the pictures and naming things that she knows.
-Take objects out of something, put them back in, back out, in.... She'll do this with laundry, toys, books, groceries... whatever she can find. She'll keep herself quite entertained for a while.
We love this girl. She's growing so fast and learning so much. Life is much more fun with her around.
