I had no intention of going anywhere this summer. Skigh and I usually make a trip out to visit both of our families during the summer and during the holidays, but we decided to cut the summer trips out this year (mostly because of expenses and because I didn't want to fly by myself with Bailey and Sawyer). Well, my brother, Zach, was graduating from high school, and my entire family was going home except for me. And then my dad offered to drive halfway and meet us in Lexington, put us up in a hotel, and then drive us the rest of the way back to Michigan. We decided we couldn't refuse.
I was worried about driving so far (12 hours) with Sawyer, but it turned out that he slept almost the entire way. I was so relieved. Bailey was amazing on the trip as well. She does a great job entertaining herself these days. And on the last leg of each day, she got to watch a movie. This put her in the best mood ever.
Bailey. She insisted on keeping her sunglasses on while watching her movie.

I was surprised. She was actually a little timid at first. I guess she's old enough now to get a little scared of the water. She warmed right up though.
This guy was here, too, but didn't go swimming.
I was also worried about Bailey and Sawyer sleeping in the same room. I didn't want them to wake each other up, but it ended up being fine. I was the only one who got a terrible night's sleep because I was so paranoid about it.
The trip there was great. We were sad to say goodbye to Skigh, but excited to see everyone back home in Michigan.

I am so glad you were able to go Berkley! What a blessing to spend time with family. HOWEVER, I can totally appreciate you wanting to get back to your normal routine after a vacation like this away from home (I remember you posting a few comments on FB during this vacation). :)
I agree that MOM is usually the one who cannot turn her brain off even when it is time to go to bed. At least this has been my case at times, when taken out of our normal routine. :)
I am sure everyone LOVED seeing you 3 and of course they missed Skigh (as I am sure you did as well... well ...at least the extra pair of helping hands....LOL). :) JK Skigh :)
